HDMI port and video fault repair in South East London

The console switches on but the TV says "no signal", or the picture flickers and drops out. Most of the time that is a damaged HDMI port, and it can be replaced without replacing the console.

£79 to £95 + VATGuide price, before VAT

Signs you need this repair

  • The console powers on but the TV shows "no signal" or a black screen
  • The picture flickers, sparkles or cuts out
  • The picture only appears when the cable is held at an angle
  • Pins inside the HDMI port are bent, missing or pushed in
  • Lines, wrong colours or a picture that fails at higher resolutions

What the work involves

  1. We test with a known-good cable and screen first, to rule out your TV and lead
  2. The port is inspected under magnification
  3. A damaged port is removed from the main board and a new one soldered in
  4. If the port is sound, the video circuit behind it is checked
  5. The console is tested on a TV before it leaves the bench

Questions about this repair

How do I know it is the port and not the cable?

Try another HDMI cable and a different input on the TV. If the console lights up as normal and there is still no picture, the port or the video circuit is the likely cause.

Can an HDMI port really be replaced?

Yes. The port is a soldered component on the main board. We replace it at component level, so you keep your console, your games and your saves.

How long does it take?

Workshop repairs are normally back with you within 24 to 48 hours. We give you a date with your quote.

Is the repair guaranteed?

Yes. All our work is guaranteed, including the parts we use.
